Scaletta dello Scorlazzino ---
The most charming and "local" way to travel from Città Bassa to Città Alta is by the "scalette" (stone staircases). As the name suggests, these are exclusively pedestrian pathways, stepped and paved with characteristic cobblestones or brick tiles. They wind upward, lined by ancient dry stone walls, passing through fields, terraced vegetable gardens and the beautiful gardens of elegant villas: the scenery that unfolds before you will enchant you at every step. The scalette are also beloved by athletes seeking training: they are indeed traffic-free routes, peaceful and evocative. Lo Scorlazzino rises from via San Martino della Pigrizia with a peculiar double entrance: one almost at the intersection with via Borgo Canale, similar to that of dello Scorlazzone (which you will find at the top of the climb).
