Crypt "Oboedientia et Pax" ---

It is impossible to enter this place without feeling the weight of its sacredness. The crypt is indeed the most intimate and contemplative space of the entire sanctuary. Already the casts of the hand and face of John XXIII, created after his death by the great Bergamo sculptor Giacomo Manzù, would be enough to make it a special place. Further enriching it is the crucifix positioned in front of the display case, a reminder of the one that the Good Pope always wanted in front of his bed.
