A power plant or a castle? While cycling along the beautiful cycle path beside the Adda River, at the height of Trezzo, you might find yourself wondering. The long, low structure indeed recalls the Visconti castle perched on the hill above it. It was the far-sighted entrepreneur Crespi who wanted his new power plant to be built in harmony with the surrounding landscape. The architect, Gaetano Moretti, therefore decided to use the same stone employed centuries earlier for the construction of the pre-existing fortification and to design his power plant with forms that evoked medieval crenellations.
