Carrozzeria Locatelli ---
Together with the Urban Commerce District, we met Luigi Locatelli, owner of Carrozzeria Locatelli in Città Bassa. Here is the story of his business: Once upon a time there was a grandfather, born in 1911, who began by repairing cart leaf springs. Then the first cars arrived, and Mr. Antonio Locatelli opened his first body shop in Bergamo with partner Isidoro Belloli, on via Nazario Sauro. It was 1930. Two years later they moved to via Garbelli, where the workshop still stands today. In 1944, Antonio was succeeded by his son Francesco, who miraculously returned from the war. "In those years the main work had been cutting the roofs of cars to install machine guns," says Luigi – Antonio's grandson – who began his activity in the company in 1970
