Via Colleoni or "Corsarola" ---

Corsarola is the name by which Bergamaschi familiarly call Via Bartolomeo Colleoni, named after the famous fifteenth-century condottiero, and represents the preferred walking route for those heading to Città Alta. The name Corsarola probably derives from the classical name "Corso" given to pedestrian thoroughfares. It is not unlikely that it refers to the constant flow of people that populates this route at all hours. Obviously closed to traffic, this street is certainly the perfect path if you want to immerse yourself in the past, imagining living when Bergamo existed only on the hilly part of its territory. Always very crowded, you can encounter university students, tourists, but also many residents who frequent the shops, bars and restaurants scattered along the street.
