Sanctuary of San Patrizio ---

Perched on a hill near Colzate, visible while traveling through Valle Seriana between Vertova and Casnigo, the Sanctuary of San Patrizio encloses a very ancient small church dating from the late 13th century. Isolated on sheer cliff walls so as to resemble an ancient fortress, the sanctuary was built starting from 1580 and completed about twenty years later. Every year on the Corpus Domini feast day, a grand procession is held in Gandino, in which the Confraternities and inhabitants of the entire area participate. In Gandino, the splendid Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta stands, which preserves in its Museum a substantial artistic heritage.
