Sanctuary of the Madonna di Perello ---

Formerly called the "Oratory of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Elizabeth in the Wood of Perello," the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Monte Perello is located in the territory of the Parish of Algua, on the road from Selvino to Valle Seriana. Composed of three overlapping churches, it stands on the slopes of Monte Perello, from which it takes its name, in a suggestive setting immersed in woodland greenery and its interior is rich in artworks and antique furnishings. It is one of the oldest sanctuaries in the Bergamo area: the structure dates back to the 16th century and its origins date to 1413, the year in which the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a local farmer. On July 2nd, the anniversary of the Apparition is celebrated. The Sanctuary opens on Easter Monday (after Easter) and closes on November 1st, the solemnity of all
