Sanctuary of the Madonna del Pianto ---

Located at the entrance of Albino, on the edge of the road to Clusone. Its origin does not date back to an apparition, but to a miracle that occurred before the statue of the Sorrowful Virgin, venerated in a chapel of the church. The Sanctuary is the work of architect Antonio Piccinelli and is formed by the unification of two pre-existing sacred buildings, the Church of the Invention of the Holy Cross (before the 11th century) and a shrine dedicated to the Madonna from the 16th century. The church has a Latin cross structure. Inside you can find paintings by Moroni, Salmeggia and Zucco, numerous votive offerings and the chapel of the Blessed Virgin of Tears. The Sanctuary is the destination of numerous pilgrimages.
