Santa Maria in Brusicco ---

It is the church from which the spiritual journey of Angelo Roncalli symbolically begins. It was here that the future pope was baptized, on November 25, 1881. And today it contains a symbol of the end of his earthly life: the plaque that covered his tomb in the Vatican grottoes. But the history of the building obviously dates back well before the nineteenth century. It dates back to the fifteenth century and can boast among its decorations a Sant'Antonio da Padova attributed to Ceresa.
