San Giovanni Bianco ---
A crossroads of valleys, a puzzle of views, many colors: San Giovanni Bianco closely resembles Arlecchino, the character from Italian popular theater whom tradition links to these lands. The historic center of the town has remained virtually intact, still composed of ancient houses huddled together, separated only by narrow alleyways. Well seven Romanesque bridges give the town its characteristic appearance, and from the valley floor the view is priceless. Finally, don't miss the "Casa di Arlecchino" in the nearby hamlet of Oneta, a perfectly preserved fifteenth-century noble house where the character who inspired the famous theatrical mask is said to have lived.
