RISERVA NATURALE FONTANILE BRANCALEONE ---

The Riserva Naturale Fontanile Brancaleone is located on the border between Pagazzano, a locality that hosts a wonderful Castello, and Caravaggio, a town in the Bergamo plain known for its highly visited Marian sanctuary, about 20 km from the city of Bergamo. The reserve extends over approximately 10 hectares of greenery, woodland and small lakes. Despite being a small area, it hosts various species of plants, flowers and animals. Regarding flora, the Fontanile Brancaleone features wooded areas, cultivated areas and areas with marsh vegetation. The most common animals include various types of frogs, the European mole, the fox, but especially many birds. To mention some: the grey heron, the skylark, the nightingale, the Kingfisher, the goldfinch, and the Barn Owl.
