Porta Sant'Agostino ---

Porta Sant'Agostino served as the main entrance to the Città Alta for a long time, both for people from Bergamo coming up from Borgo Pignolo and for those arriving from Venice. Even today, this gateway represents the most used connection for moving between the Città Alta and the Città Bassa, on foot and by public and private transport. Since September 2024, Porta Sant'Agostino has been home to the "Mura di Bergamo" museum, part of the Museo delle Storie di Bergamo circuit and an important step in enhancing the Venetian Walls, a UNESCO heritage site since 2017.
