San Michele Bridge or Paderno Bridge ---
To better enjoy the bridge and the natural context in which it is set, we recommend cycling along the cycle path that runs along the Bergamo bank of the Adda river. Looking at it, the comparison with the Eiffel Tower is immediate, and indeed the two structures share both the construction period (1887-1889) and the technique. Both are composed of riveted beams; in this case 2500 tonnes of iron held together by over 100,000 nails! Passing under the eastern pylon of Paderno Bridge you will have a view of the incredible arch, which is as high as 85 metres. The atmosphere you will immerse yourself in is unique: on one hand you will feel surrounded by nature (the village is invisible from here and cars pass too high to be a nuisance), on the other you will be in contact with a marvel of engineering
