The original nucleus was built between 1580 and 1590, but the current architectural appearance is the result of the neoclassical reorganization carried out by Nicolino da Calepio at the end of the 1700s. The cycle of frescoes created by Bergamo painter Giovan Paolo Cavagna (Bergamo 1550 ca-1627) also dates back to the 1590s, of which very visible traces remain that allow for reconstruction of the vast original iconographic program in which biblical and mythological episodes, sacred and secular, are combined—an important piece for deepening studies on secular painting and the grand decoration of aristocratic palaces in Bergamo in the sixteenth century.
