On the slopes of the mountains surrounding Lizzola-Valbondione, snow is present for long months of the year, always in ideal conditions: powdery at higher elevations where alpine skiing is practiced along slopes suitable for any skier, and in the valley bottom, where cross-country skiing is practiced. Valbondione is therefore a complete winter resort, which allows it to host high-level competitive events. Given its geographical position, at the foot of a mountain massif with peaks reaching three thousand meters, interspersed with couloirs featuring numerous snowfields, Lizzola-Valbondione offers excellent opportunities for ski mountaineering.
