Bianzano Castle ---
A rampant lion and an eagle with large talons clutching prey stand out in the coat of arms of the ancient and noble Suardi family, painted on the entrance portal of Bianzano Castle. Dating back to the 13th century, the complex has a perfectly square layout, with diagonals oriented toward the four cardinal points. Located on a plateau and in a dominant position on the western slope of Valle Cavallina, it allowed control of the north-west and north-east slopes from which potential enemies arrived: the road coming from Val Seriana via Valle Rossa and the one connecting Bergamo with Lake Iseo and Val Camonica. It also offered an excellent view of Lake Endine and Monte Torrezzo. A series of numerical proportions and symbols scattered throughout the building
