Castello dei Conti Calepio ---
The castle is located in a dominant position overlooking the Oglio river valley and stands at the edges of the protective nucleus of Calepio on the remains of a previous early medieval fortress. The building in its current layout was created around 1430. The path that runs through the village up to the castle offers the opportunity to appreciate important historical aspects as it winds between authentic buildings and provides a wide and pleasant view of the surrounding river landscape. Of the manor that was both a military garrison and a noble residence, today the severity of the defensive stronghold is evident. Inside are elegant rooms decorated with pictorial works and fine stuccos. Public openings are managed by the Fondazione Conti Calepio and published in the news section of their website.
