Basilica di Santa Giulia ---

Observing the facade of the Basilica, you will notice a small white pyramid placed on the capital of the column to the left of the central arch: beneath it lies a precious urn of uncertain dating. Some attribute it to the Roman era, while others believe it holds the remains of Tiziana, the twelve-year-old daughter of Lombard queen Teodolinda. The inscription on the urn is damaged by chisel marks, but the letters can still be read: "RO…. TI…NAE QUAE VIXIT ANN. XII. M.VII D. XIII". But other mysteries are hidden within this basilica. For example: an "ouroboros", that is the serpent biting its own tail, is carved on three funeral monuments located in the minor right apse. This symbol is linked to alchemy, and encloses a butterfly that symbolizes metamorphosis: what does it have to do with religion
